Dec 2: Who are you?

Inspired by the lovely Uncle Typewriter and following in her listed, "I am" post footprints....
I am a morning person.
I am in awe of people who set out to accomplish incredible feats and one day hope to accomplish something incredible myself. I have no idea what that will be or if it'll happen, but I think I'm in need of an adventure.
I doubt myself and my abilities on a regular basis.
Red wine is my alcoholic beverage of choice.
I am a practical person. I lack glam.
I have been known to talk and sometimes walk in my sleep.
I cried every single day my mom took me to Kindergarten. Prior to my first year at school, a neighbour with a crush on my dad came to my house completely naked while I was playing out front. Imagine a 200+ pound nude woman with long black hair, known for collecting roadkill and displaying it on her lawn at full moons, calling for "Jimmy". I was a scared kid for many years. I did not do sleepovers. I consistently kicked my dad out of his bed at night and I was deemed the stay-at-home, mama's girl, for much of my early childhood.
My first traveling experience outside of North America was to Sri Lanka when I was 20, 5 months after the 2004 tsunami. That trip changed me.
I desire to live in a place where there are mountains and water at my doorstep. My dream home is a quaint stone farmhouse with a red wooden door. I want a garden and a library.
I would love to spend my days wandering in new and foreign places. I think this shocks everyone who ever knew me growing up.
I told my dad to 'fuck it' when I was 5. My dad asked me to repeat myself several times and each time, I told him, with a carefree heart, to 'fuck it'. He was speechless, horrified and likely secretly proud. He told me he was leaving this one to my mom to deal with. Needless to say, I was one of the only people in my group of friends growing up who didn't get in serious trouble for saying, 'shit' and 'fuck' in conversation around the rents. My mom and dad were and are well-loved by my friends.
I am in love and have been for 7 years.
I love being active. I am thankful for my body and it's amazing ability to house all that is me.
I called South Korea home for 2+ years and loved every minute of it. Memories of my students, the mountains, delicious food and my lifestyle constantly pull at my heart strings.
Fall is my favourite season.
I currently teach special education to elementary students in a small town outside the city I live in.
I love maps and National Geographic magazines. One of my undergraduate degrees is in Geography.
I love trees, the colour green, twitter, my friends, dawn and dusk, photography, and reading good books.
The world fascinates me.
