Small Stones for the Week of January 9- 15th

Last week was my first week back to work after the holidays. Finding these words, not only on the 12th, proved to be quite a challenge. 

However, it's a new week with new words to be found. I'll let you know how it goes...

Slow breaths, air expands his chest,
with each exhale, a hum.
His body gently twitches
as he curls up once more,
prolonging the last of his dreams.

A blazing ribbon of light 

burns across the horizon

as dark low-lying clouds 

consume it.

Creeping and dense, it drifts in the air

engulfing me.
With eyes narrowed and speeds low,
I travel through it.

My body has chosen
not to persist, but to give in
to the sleep that calls it.

The journey begins
as it rolls
towards the meandering maze.

Winding its way,
the coloured labyrinth
carries it forward,
each move triggering the next.

Cold winds swirl,

wrapping around me. 

Seen in my breath,
exhaled like smoke.
A gentle quiver
runs through my body.
